Which is the best country to study civil engineering as an exchange student?
Which is the best country to study civil engineering as an exchange student?
I am a Mexican student studying Civil Engineering at a Texan university and I would like to study abroad, but I do not know what would be best. I have considered Germany, Italy, Netherlands but advisors from my college insist in Asia. I would like to see any opinion or recommendation. Any other country recommended (excluding Latin America). Which are the best engineering schools in those countries (continent in the case of Asia). Advantages and disadvantages and finally if they can offer courses in English. Actually, students from all over the world come to study Engineering in the United States to take the knowledge back home and build better countries. Many students from Africa and the Middle East especially. One of the best engineering schools (and cheapest) in the US is Fresno State... plus the city is about 50% Spanish speaking so you will acclimate quickly.

In India, the best are IIT and BITS. There are also many regional colleges. There are very good engg colleges in the major cities too.

great day to everyone. i am a filipino student. and in october, during the semestral break, i am planning to visit a friend in the netherlands, who is already 72-years-old and have been to the philippines in april. what shall i need to visit the netherlands for 14 days? thanks to everyone.

Amazing one of the best things i've ever done in my life! I went to australia. It was so much fun! It costs a lot but it is so worth it.

I went to Australia in 2004 with People to People. It was great, I had so much fun. It is definitely worth the money. I had a lot of fun, but my only complaints are that we did not stay in the places too long, and we went on a tour right after we got off of the plane.

How long does it take to get a student visa?
I'm asking because I have a friend in the Netherlands Antilles, St. Maarten (in the Caribbean). She wants to come up to Texas to finish her schooling, Junior and Senior year in high school. We know she needs to get a student visa and I'd just like to know how long it usually takes? An estimation is fine, don't need exact, thank you!

Student visa's for HS are only good for one year,if the school agrees to accept her. She will have to pay tuition to attend,probably around $8,000-$10,000 for the year. She should start now so she can come by her senior year.

how expensive is netherlands to stay, for students?
i'll be visiting netherlands this summer for my summer internship at TU/e, at Einthoven. i am an Indian student and have no idea about the expenses of living at netherlands. it will be really helpful if someone can guide me for the same.

the citys are expensive but really any city worldwide is the same ... but if u stay out of town its cheap .....u really need to put where abouts your going to stay ..

pay anywhere between 200 (single room about 16sqm) and 340 euros (room with kitchenette) generally furnished but not always with phone/internet, washingmachine etc. (and the laundromat is a huge 7euro per load!) check out www.duwo.nl the student housing agency that places tu delft exchange students. shopping, well, depends. milk is cheap but milk products are not. meat is generally 8 or 10euro/kg. i spend about 20euro easy just on basic groceries for the week. trains are kind of pricey, 12euro for a return ticket from delft to amsterdam, and thats with a discount card which costs 55euro to buy. 600euro per month for rent and food and going out etc. and youre well covered. but everyone's spending is different...hope it helps a bit!

Any good art or design schools in England or the Netherlands?
Any good art or design schools in England or the Netherlands?
For various reasons, including just wanting to experience life in some other part of the world, I've been having a burning desire to move to Europe. I've narrowed down on England or The Netherlands as possible locations. So I'm wondering what would be a good art or design school from these places? Particularly any that work with digital media or art direction, and any that are ideal for foreign students. If it helps any, I'm currently a junior digital media student at UCF in Orlando, Florida, USA. My career goal is to design for film, television, videogames and the like.

Im an international student i cant speak dutch and looking to study Medicine in the Netherlands. So is there any uni in the Netherlands that offers a english bachelor of medicine course? HELP!

Well my first reaction was that there probably would not be such a course due to demand (or lack of) However, surprisingly there are courses available in English but it depends on your specialism. For example there are plenty of postgraduate courses e.g. in Biomedical science, medical biology, occupational therapy, but I could not find anything (just based on a quick search) in English at undergraduate level in this area. However, as I mentioned, this was a quick check, so here is the link to the NUFFIC site where there is a listing of the courses available for international students (in English) http://www.nuffic.nl/international-students/dutch-higher-education/search-international-study-programmes/search-study-programmes-in-english and you can take a look here for yourself. I could not find one, perhaps to difficult or dangerous? I have a list of all the 13 universities, big and small. Try contact each of them to ask. Most other medical studies seem to be available. What counts for you are their plans for the first year that you could join. They are the only ones to be able to answer this straight but again, it may be prohibited. http://www.opleiding.net/kaart_universiteiten.html

Medicine is a so-called 'lotery' study. It means that there is a fixed number of places. Based on your grades (high school diploma) you get a weighing in 'the lottery' (e.g. if you have 80/100 avarage your chances to get in are much higher than on a 60/100 avarage). I don't think you will find the course in English, as there are already too many Dutch students that want to get in. Try Belgium (e.g. Antwerp) instead.
