I just got back from one on june 30. they got your name from either a random students list or a teacher or someone like that. i went to canada even though they sent that letter abt europe, so you could go to europe or some other trip theyre offering. hotels werent that good when i went, mostly dorms. some of my friends had bugs in their rooms. if you go 2 canada, be advised that you will b at a tipi camp 4 two days, and idk where the showers are. i had 2 use baby wipes 2 wash up in the porta potties. the teachers can be mean. but, i made a lot of friends and had a really great time all in all.

They're extremely safe. I've been on two trips with them and it's extremely professional, they have staff in every country waiting on an emergency line and a 1 leader for every 10 students. Each hotel is at least 3 stars. I suggest going for it if you can!

I just got the same letter! I've seen generally mixed comments about the program over the internet. Thousands of people get the same letter, whether it was by a teacher recommending us or just them randomly pulling names from schools, so there isn't necessarily anything special about us. It's also very expensive (on average $4000 to $6000) and I don't know if we have to go through some kind of test to officially get into the program, like writing a letter detailing why we feel we should go or something like that. However most people say they had a memorable experience worth the high cost, plus you can get up to 12 college credits in the program which is enough to be in the college full time. Money isn't an issue for me personally since I got a job this summer. Hotels are at least 3 stars, so there shouldn't be too many complaints about rooming or anything like that. Hope you can go!

Which is the best country to study civil engineering as an exchange student?
I am a Mexican student studying Civil Engineering at a Texan university and I would like to study abroad, but I do not know what would be best. I have considered Germany, Italy, Netherlands but advisors from my college insist in Asia. I would like to see any opinion or recommendation. Any other country recommended (excluding Latin America). Which are the best engineering schools in those countries (continent in the case of Asia). Advantages and disadvantages and finally if they can offer courses in English. Actually, students from all over the world come to study Engineering in the United States to take the knowledge back home and build better countries. Many students from Africa and the Middle East especially. One of the best engineering schools (and cheapest) in the US is Fresno State... plus the city is about 50% Spanish speaking so you will acclimate quickly.

In India, the best are IIT and BITS. There are also many regional colleges. There are very good engg colleges in the major cities too.

I went to Australia in 2004 with People to People. It was great, I had so much fun. It is definitely worth the money. I had a lot of fun, but my only complaints are that we did not stay in the places too long, and we went on a tour right after we got off of the plane.
