It's safe. Someone from your school probably nominated you to go for displaying good sportsmanship or friendly social interaction or just being a good, average leader. I personally haven't gotten to go on the trips (if you attend the meetings and stuff, they'll go over how fundraising works and all, since you have to pay for it yourself). It's a unique opportunity to travel to different countries, meet new people, and gain new experiences. I suggest you go if you can afford it, since the trips they take differ with each year and you may or may not be nominated again.

How to bring my gf to The Netherlands?

How to bring my gf to The Netherlands?
Hi, I'm a dutch university student living on "studiefinanciering" a kind of student loan and would like to know how to get a visa for my peruvian girlfriend to come and live with me, she has university studies (communication sciences) and speaks fluent English, no dutch however. Please any advice anyone could give me would be very appreciated since I love and miss her a lot. By the way, I met her in Peru where I was living before coming to The Netherlands to finish my career. Actually, she just finished school, and is not planning on going back rightnow, she wants to work.

apply for student visa if she plans on going to school

You need to check out a Dutch government website. If you got married, she should be able to join you. I think most Latin Americans can go to Spain without visa, (she needs to check with the Spanish embassy in Lima), so you could meet up there, maybe get married in the sunshine.... Good luck!

People to People Student Ambassador Program?

People to People Student Ambassador Program?
So I got this thing in the mail about a people to people student ambassador program to England, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. I am just wondering about the cost of this trip. I know the program is legit because one of my friends went on the trip to Australia. And i would also like some information on fundraisers you did to raise the money to pay for your trip.

a bit over 6000 fundingyoureducation.org

You can always check the People to People site for the prices on each trip. I didn't fundraise much for my last trip and i deeply regret that. Some of my friends were selling candy at their school. Others got a job or they talked to the owners of some restaurants for support. Have fun fundraising!
